Dad and Me
The companion weekend to Mom and Me. Same camp, same idea — a night in the woods with no schedule to keep and nothing to do but be there.

Who it's for
Cub Scout-age children and their dads — or grandfather, uncle, or whichever adult man in a child's life wants to be the one who takes them. No camping experience needed.
What you'll do
- Fishing on Lake Murvaul
- BB guns and archery at Cub-appropriate ranges
- Outdoor skills — knots, fire, the useful basics
- Crafts and nature
- Cooking out
- Campfire, then a night in a tent
Why it is worth the drive
An uninterrupted weekend is rarer than it should be. The program is the excuse; the point is the drive out, the fire, and the conversation at eleven at night in a tent, which is where kids say the things they do not say at the kitchen table.
What to bring
- Tent, or ask about available camp accommodations when you register
- Sleeping bags and ground pads for both of you
- Closed-toe shoes, plus a pair that can get wet
- Layers and rain gear
- Flashlight for each person
- Insect repellent, sunscreen, refillable water bottles
- Fishing gear if you have it
Cost
The fee covers both of you and is published with the event on the council calendar.
