Creating a year-round facility for program staff to live in while they lead camp activities. It is the staff who deliver the program, and where they live shapes who is willing to serve.

• Electricity run to each of the tent pads
• Cabins completed from donated materials, ready to house key staff
• The staff showers completely renovated
• Cosmetic improvements to the Directors' Cabins and Headquarters Building

Aquatics

The Pool & Waterfront

GWP's lakefront location makes it a prime site for aquatics — so many Scout camps cannot effectively train Scouts in handling watercraft at all. Keeping a comprehensive aquatics program running means keeping the pool sound.

• Pool resurfaced
• Non-skid paint applied to the deck
• Lane and depth markings refreshed
• Pump and drainage system rebuilt — a critical necessity

And the open question worth asking: could we offer aquatics programming beyond the weeks of summer camp?

Dining Hall

Additional Restrooms

The dining hall is central to the Scout camp experience. To better serve campers and their volunteer leaders, the plan calls for additional restroom facilities.

Beyond the named projects, a sixty-year-old camp needs continuous care — roofs, water lines, road base, tree work, and the compliance requirements that come with hosting youth.

Unrestricted gifts let the council put money where it is most needed in any given season.

Trading Post

The Camp Store

Snacks, cold drinks, ice, handicraft kits, and the patches Scouts go home with. The covered pavilion beside it is where a lot of letter-writing and quiet trading gets done.
